Hi Everybody,

HDYO is creating a brand new section to cover the topic of emotional wellbeing. The section will focus on helping and supporting young people impacted by HD who may be experiencing such things as depression, anxiety, self-harm, eating disorders or suicidal thoughts.

We are looking for young people impacted by HD who have either gone through or are going through depression, anxiety, self-harm, eating disorders or suicidal thoughts to share their experiences with HDYO so that we can produce affective and appropriate support & information for young people who may be experiencing such difficulties. Especially young people who feel that their issues have been impacted or as a result of HD being in their lives/impacting on their family.

Any young person who feels they would like to share their experience and feelings emotional wellbeing is encouraged to contact me at matt@hdyo.org. Your experiences are absolutely essential in ensuring we create the best understanding information for young people impacted by HD who may be experiencing similar issues at the moment.

We recognise that talking about these subjects can be difficult at times and we want to assure you that any contact with HDYO will be completely confidential and in a supportive environment.

Thank you.
