A. Hi, thank you for your question. If you have Huntington’s and your partner doesn’t then any children you have naturally will have a 50% risk of inheriting HD themselves. Basically you have two genes in your DNA and one of them you will pass down to your children, one is good and one is bad and causes HD – so there is a 50/50 chance that your child would inherit the bad gene.
